Vitals

  • 6-foot-0, 175 pounds
  • Point Guard
  • 20 points, 7 assists per game
  • New England Playaz AAU

Adrian Oliveira is one of those guys that gets lost in the shuffle in the NEPSAC, but he shouldn’t. The point guard from Brimmer & May garnered 3rd team All-NEPSAC AA this year while leading the Gators in the first year of the post-Greg Kristoff era and scored his 1,000th point this past year.

Oliveira began drawing the interest of mid-major programs last summer while playing with the New England Playaz. He is quick to the rim and uses that ability to get by his defenders. Even in the guard-heavy world of AAU, Oliveira finds a way to make sure people take notice.

@RDRecruitingWhat do you feel are your biggest strengths on court?
@A_Oliveira3: Court vision, passing, ball handling, athleticism, got a 6’7 wingspand but I gotta improve my full court defense and jump shot

RDR: Well that takes care of the next question! What else do you feel you could improve on?
AO: haha yea, and probably get a little quicker and add a couple more inches to my vertical…More vocal, and be a leader on the court also

RDR: What schools have been in contact with you? Any offers?
AO: No offers yet. The schools are, Holy Cross, Vermont, Robert Morris, Iona, Indiana St, Loyola (MD), Neastern, Marist, and Bryant

RDR: What tournaments this summer are you looking forward to the most?
AO: Uhm the Best Buy Chicago Classic on May 25, Adidas Invitational Indiana on July 11, Best Buy Invitational Minnesota on July 22, And Adidas 64 Vegas in July 25.

RDRWhat is your biggest individual goal for this summer?

AO:  To receive my first scholarship and go from there, but also to continue to get better and better everyday. I want my name to be out there this summer.
